Our Privacy and Spam Policy 

 

Berry Fowler and Associates, Inc. (BFA), Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching (FIA) and Fowler School of Business and Executive Coaching (FSB) understands the importance of protecting our users’ privacy. To that end we have developed our privacy statement and spam policy to demonstrate our privacy commitment to you. Information on how sites spam laws and regulations beyond our policies may apply to commercial electronic messages sent to individuals who have elected to list their contact information on the BFA, FIA AND FSB websites is included.

By using our websites and agreeing to this policy, you consent to our use of cookies and pixels in accordance with the terms of this policy.

 

What Information We Collect

BFA, FIA AND FSB and its Web hosting company, acting as BFA, FIA AND FSB’s agent, collect and store technical information about your visit to our websites. This information is used for statistical purposes to make our sites more accessible to visitors. The information we collect is not provided to any other third party. Specifically, we may record:

  • A cookie is a file placed on your computer hard drive, that allows the BFA, FIA AND FSB Web server to log the pages you use in the BFA, FIA AND FSB sites and to determine if you have visited the sites before. The BFA, FIA AND FSB server uses this information to provide certain features during your visit to the websites.   • A pixel is a graphic with dimensions of 1 pixel by 1 pixel. It is loaded when a user visits a website or opens an email. It is used to track certain user activities, such as but not limited to, conversions, events, and retargeted data.

 

Throughout the websites there may be forms to request information and purchase or obtain products and/or services. These forms typically ask for contact information (such as your name, phone, address, and e-mail address) and, if purchasing a product, your financial information (such as your credit card information). Information from these forms is used to deliver the products and/or services you request. It may also be used to notify you of future BFA, FIA AND FSB opportunities, products, services, or events that may be of interest to you. When completing these forms, please do not supply another person’s personal data to us unless you have received that individual’s consent to do so.

 

How We Use Collected Information

Demographic and profile data collected at our sites may be added to a database maintained by BFA, FIA AND FSB to customize your website experience. It may be used to contact users of the websites for online surveys or advocacy purposes if the user has indicated an interest.

These sites use physical, electronic, and managerial procedures to protect information collected online including firewalls to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control. The use of these security measures is not a guarantee that information supplied over the Internet will not be intercepted.

 

Email and Spam Policy

We are committed to keeping your e-mail address confidential. We do not sell, rent, or lease our subscription lists to third parties, and we will not provide your personal information to any third-party individual, government agency or company at any time unless compelled to do so by law. We will use your email address solely to provide timely information about BFA, FIA AND FSB programs and services. BFA, FIA AND FSB will maintain the information you send via email in accordance with applicable international law.

In compliance with the CAN-SPAM Act, GDPR, and CASL all email sent from our organization will clearly state who the email is from and provide clear information on how to contact the sender. In addition, all email messages will also contain concise information on how to remove yourself from our mailing list so that you receive no further email communication from us.

 

Member/coach contact information included on BFA, FIA AND FSB’s websites is not posted for the purpose of promoting/marketing products/services to coaches. It is primarily posted for the purpose of allowing potential clients of a coach to connect with a coach. All other email and electronic communications with members should adhere to the following principles:

 

  1. You should have a prior relationship with the person receiving your email. (Someone giving you their business card is acceptable in this regard, as it implies permission to get in contact. The same is true if someone has sent you an email.)

  2. A valid “from” and “reply to” address must be included with each message.
    If you have a subscription list, you should send a confirmation email that the person wishes to be on the list.

  3. There should always be a quick way to unsubscribe from any mail list.

  4. Any request to cease mailing from an individual or organization should be quickly honored.

  5. A complaint involving a breach of this policy may be considered a violation of the BFA, FIA AND FSB Code of Ethics, and therefore referred to the Independent Review Board for their consideration. Should they find a breach occurred, remedies may be required. Sanctions may also be imposed such as suspending or terminating the coach’s membership and/or credential with the BFA, FIA AND FSB.

 

Please note that spam laws and regulations above and beyond BFA, FIA AND FSB’s policies may apply to commercial electronic messages sent to individuals who have elected to list their contact information on the BFA, FIA AND FSB websites.

 

Communications Regarding BFA, FIA AND FSB Programs and Services

BFA, FIA AND FSB has a strict anti-spam policy. However, we do want FIA and FSB Certified Coaches, Students and affiliates to be aware of programs, services and opportunities available to you as a member of the BFA, FIA AND FSB community. Communications from BFA, FIA AND FSB may include, but are not be limited to the following:

  • Messages regarding BFA, FIA AND FSB programs

  • Coach and student update emails

  • Emails from and regarding FIA and FSB Communities

  • Information about the Credentialed Coach Finder

  • Prospective client RFPs distributed via the Credentialed Coach Finder

  • Updates on the BFA, FIA AND FSB Credentialing program, as well as updates specific to your credentialing status

  • Messages from and regarding the BFA, FIA AND FSB and HOPE Community Coaching Initiative

  • Member/ Coach/Student Update emails

  • Invitations to webinars and teleconferences designed to enhance your membership experience

  • Invitations to participate in BFA, FIA AND FSB initiated and/or -supported research

  • Information about BFA, FIA AND FSB industry research

 

 

Choice/Opt-Out or Corrections/Updates

Users of our websites can opt out of receiving email communications from us.
